What is the "Over 1,000/day Club"?

If a website gets over 1,000 unique visitors in one day, it is entitled
to join the Over 1,000/day Club, and get posted on this website.
Visitors are defined as individual surfers on the net, not the general
term "hits". "Hits" can refer to several numbers, the most common being
the "hits" to the website server when a requested page is loaded. Thus, a
page with many images would show far more "hits" than a page with few
images. Each image has to be called from the server.
If your website, or one that you manage, promote, or know about
achieves over 1,000 unique visitors in one day, and you can prove that (most
likely by showing web statistics), the site is entitled to be put on this
website page! This offer may be withdrawn at any time.
These daily visitor numbers are a direct result of website

www.sport-smart.com first hit 1,000 visitors in April, 2005 and is
averaging around 976 visitors per day at this writing (May 20, 2005). A
year later, in the peak season, they are again obtaining over
1,000-visitor days (see table below). They
sell baseball hats, caps, visors, and other headwear for various sports.
