Can't change home page?
Is there a site that you visit every time you browse the Web? If so,
you can set it as your home page. That way, it will appear every time you
start Internet Explorer or click the Home button on the Internet Explorer
toolbar.

Home Page Change with Internet Explorer
- Go to the Web page you want to make your home page.
- On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet
Options.
- In the Internet Options box, on the General tab, click
the Use Current button.

Tip: Minimalists, take
note—you can make your home page change to blank, and if you're a
person who wants Internet Explorer to start speedily, a blank home
page can't be beat. In Step 3 above, click the Use Blank
button. Internet Explorer will display a perfectly blank page every
time you start up. Super quick! Be careful!
Some Web sites display an option to make their page your default home
page. If you select this option, your current home page may be
replaced without giving you a warning. To restore order, follow the
steps above, and do your home page changes yourself. Don't say
"Can't change home page" ever again! |
Go to Your Home Page
Wherever you are on the Web, click the Home button. Internet
Explorer takes you straight to your designated home page.

Customized Home Page Changes
Want to create a truly customized home page with only the news and
information that you want to see? Sometimes you can have a customized home
page through your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Go to their home page
to look around for Home Page changes. Another way is to use MSN.
Simply go to My MSN and
sign in with your .NET Passport. From there, you can create your own home
page and personalize the settings the way you want by:
- choosing which information categories you want to see, such as news,
entertainment, shopping, travel, sports, and more
- picking the color scheme you like best
- rearranging the layout of your custom home page by moving items and
columns so you can organize the information you choose the way you want
My MSN home page
Once you've created your customized home page on My MSN, you can make
it your default home page in Internet Explorer. Just follow the steps at
the beginning of this article. There! You can do your home page changes
yourself!
